NSS (Unit-I and II)

The National Service Scheme (NSS) of Khalsa Tri-Shatabadi Government Post Graduate College, Ratia (Fatehabad), Haryana has been playing a pivotal role in inculcating the spirit of social responsibility, leadership, and community service among students. Functioning under the able guidance of the NSS Programme Officers, Sh. Krishan Lal, Assistant Professor in Political Science, and Sh. Surinder, Assistant Professor in History, the unit provides a vibrant platform for students to contribute meaningfully to society while simultaneously developing their own personality and skills. The motto of NSS, “Not Me But You,” is deeply embedded in all its initiatives, which focus on promoting values of selfless service, social harmony, and national integration.

Throughout the academic session, the NSS units organise a variety of activities such as cleanliness drives, plantation campaigns, blood donation camps, awareness rallies, and workshops on issues like gender equality, health and hygiene, digital literacy, road safety, and environmental protection. Special camps, generally of seven days’ duration, are also conducted in adopted villages, where volunteers engage in intensive community development programmes, including sanitation, adult education, health check-up camps, and awareness drives against social evils. These activities not only address the needs of the community but also create a sense of belongingness and civic duty among students.

The volunteers of NSS at Khalsa Tri-Shatabadi Government Post Graduate College are also encouraged to participate in state and national-level programmes, thereby gaining wider exposure and opportunities to interact with volunteers from across the country. Regular orientation sessions and workshops conducted by the Programme Officers help in training the students for effective participation in the activities. In this way, the NSS unit not only contributes significantly to the welfare of society but also shapes responsible, confident, and socially conscious citizens, which is the true objective of higher education.
